The Harlem Dowling Summer Rising program, funded by NYC Department of Youth and Community Development, provider summer camp programming in PS 36 and PS 153 to 300 NYC children. The theme for Summer Rising 2023 was “Time Travelers” and the staff helped create unforgettable moments for the campers. Throughout the summer, students explored moments in time such as age of dinosaurs at the Museum of Natural History as well as the stars at the Hayden Planetarium. Students used their imaginations to explore different periods of time culminating in the creation of time machines by each grade level. The 4th grade won 1st place with their awesome time machine design, while the Kindergarten group came in at a close 2nd place with their elaborate time machine design.
